Palworld What to Do After v1.0.3: The Priority List for Your First Session Back

Quick answer

Open Technology and check the level 23 Aquatic Construction Kit row and the level 70 Jetragon rows. Both moved down in the patch, so if you are already past those levels the unlocks are sitting available right now.

The patch changed enough that half your old plans are wrong. Here is the order to fix them in.

v1.0.3 was a balance patch, which means nothing tells you in game that your plans changed. Several unlocks moved, several farms got cheaper, and one item's weight change quietly made a whole farming route viable. This is the order to work through on your first session back.

The full patch review if you want the reasoning behind each item.

v1.0.3 patch review

1. Open Technology and check three level bands

Do this before you do anything else, because two of these rows may already be sitting unlocked and unspent on your save.

  • Level 23: Aquatic Construction Kit, now 1 Ancient Technology Point instead of 4. If you are past 23, this is available right now.
  • Level 70: Jetragon-related rows, moved down from 79. Jetragon's Missile Launcher and the Jetragon Statue both sit here.
  • Level 21: Antique Dresser, if you never bothered. One Ancient point for permanent cosmetic freedom.

2. Rebuild your oil income

Crude Oil Extractor, High-pressure Crude Oil Extractor, and Large Power Generator all cost less to build now, and both extractors produce faster. If you were rationing extractors because of the build cost, that constraint is gone. The base mission that asked specifically for a Crude Oil Extractor also accepts the High-pressure version now, which clears the awkward case where you had already built the better pump.

A device that pumps and extracts Crude Oil from deep underground. It can produce Crude Oil even in areas without oil fields, but it can only be placed on open ground with no structures beneath it. It requires a far greater supply of electricity than the Crude Oil Extractor.

3. Run the World Tree circuit properly

World Tree Holy Water dropped from 1.0 weight to 0.1 and the buff duration got longer. That is the change that makes a single-lap circuit collecting Holy Water, Paloxite, and Mythical Wood actually work. If you have been running three separate trips out there, stop.

  • Holy Water now also comes from World Tree expeditions, World Tree fishing, and the Large Fishing Pond.
  • Teafant Spring and World Tree area Pals give bigger yields.
  • Stock a real harvest kit without wrecking your carry weight, then do the whole loop in one go.

4. Stop farming Moon Lord for stat fruits

This one is not strictly a v1.0.3 change, but the patch corrected the Moon Lord normal and Ultra Raid reward tables to their intended settings, which is a good moment to re-examine why you were running it. If the answer was Life, Power, or Stout Fruit, the bounty token exchange is the better path: 25 tokens per fruit, deterministic, solo friendly.

5. Recheck your Fiber and cloth economy

Trees now drop twice as much Fiber. That quietly makes ammo components, cloth crafts, and early building mats cheaper across the board. If you had a logging base sized around the old yield, it is now overproducing, which means you can shrink it and reassign the Pals.

6. Fix what the bug list unblocked

Several fixes matter more than the balance lines if you were affected by them. Check these against whatever you had written off as broken.

  • Sunreach main mission soft lock from clearing the barrier too early: fixed. If you were stuck, you are not any more.
  • Dedicated server accidental Fast Travel during Tower Boss fights: fixed. Hard Mode attempts on servers are trustworthy again.
  • Summoned Pals stopping combat or base work: fixed. Recheck bases you thought were badly designed.
  • Alpha Surfent Ranch leather production: fixed. Your leather farm may work now.
  • Panthalus wave visual effects not matching hitboxes: fixed. That fight is fair now.
  • Stairs and slanted roof placement detection: fixed. Rebuild the thing you gave up on.

Retry Panthalus now that the hitboxes match.

The one-session version

  • Open Technology. Claim Aquatic Construction Kit at 23, Jetragon rows at 70, Antique Dresser at 21.
  • Build or expand extractors while the cost is low.
  • Do one full World Tree circuit with a proper Holy Water stock.
  • Set up a bounty circuit and stop raiding for stat fruits.
  • Shrink the logging base that is now overproducing Fiber.

Next step after the cleanup: Hard Mode and Ultra Raid prep.

Common questions

Short answers for searches that should land here, with links to the item, map pin, or related guide when you need more detail.

What should I do first after updating to Palworld 1.0.3?
Open Technology and check the level 23 Aquatic Construction Kit row and the level 70 Jetragon rows. Both moved down in the patch, so if you are already past those levels the unlocks are sitting available right now. Open Technology
Did Palworld 1.0.3 change how I should farm?
Yes, in three places. The Holy Water weight cut makes a single-lap World Tree circuit viable, cheaper and faster extractors change your oil base sizing, and doubled tree Fiber means your logging base is likely overproducing. World Tree circuit
Is Moon Lord still the best stat fruit source in Palworld?
No. Trading Successful Bounty Tokens to a Bounty Officer at 25 tokens per fruit is deterministic, solo friendly, and repeatable. Run Moon Lord for its own corrected reward table instead. Stat fruits from tokens
Were any Palworld progression blockers fixed in 1.0.3?
Yes. The Sunreach main mission soft lock from clearing the barrier too early was fixed, along with dedicated server Fast Travel during Tower Boss fights, summoned Pals stopping work, Alpha Surfent Ranch leather production, and Panthalus wave hitbox mismatches. v1.0.3 review
