Palworld Jetragon at Level 70: The Tech, the Gear, and the Catch Plan

Quick answer

Jetragon-related Technology unlocks moved from level 79 to level 70 in v1.0.3. Jetragon's Missile Launcher now sits at level 70 for 5 Technology Points, and the Jetragon Statue is also at 70 for 1 point.

Jetragon's ride gear used to wait until level 79. After v1.0.3 it sits at 70, and the materials got cheaper too.

Jetragon is the fastest mount in Palworld and the reason late-game map traversal stops being a chore. Until v1.0.3 the ride gear waited behind Technology level 79, which meant plenty of players had a captured Jetragon sitting in the Palbox with a greyed-out gear row. That gate moved down to 70, and the materials got cheaper on the way.

What changed in v1.0.3

  • Jetragon-related Technology unlocks moved from level 79 to level 70.
  • The materials for the Pal Gear used to ride Jetragon were reduced.
  • Jetragon's Missile Launcher now sits at Technology level 70 for 5 Technology Points.
  • The Jetragon Statue also sits at level 70 for 1 point.

Nine levels does not sound like much until you remember what the eighties look like in Palworld. Level 70 is roughly when most players finish the tower ladder and start the World Tree. Level 79 is deep into the grind after that. Moving the gear earlier means Jetragon becomes your traversal mount during the World Tree content rather than after it.

The full v1.0.3 balance pass in context.

v1.0.3 patch review

Check your Technology tree first

If you were already past level 70 when the patch landed, the rows are simply available now. There is no quest, no trigger, and no announcement in game. Open Technology, filter to the level 70 band, and look for the Jetragon rows. Plenty of players are sitting on the unlock without knowing.

Filter Technology by level and confirm the 70 band.

Catching Jetragon

Jetragon is a Dragon and Fire legendary that patrols an open area, which makes it one of the harder captures in the game for two reasons. It flies, and it does not stop. You are not going to out-damage it into the capture window by accident.

  • Bring Ancient Spheres. Nothing below that tier is a serious throw at a legendary of this level.
  • Bring an Ice Pal. Ice answers both Dragon and, effectively, the aggression, since a Freeze window is where your throws land.
  • Bring a flying mount you can dismount from mid air. You will be repositioning constantly.
  • Bring status effects. Applying a status before the throw raises capture probability, and against a legendary that margin decides the attempt.
  • Bring far more spheres than feels reasonable. Legendary capture rates are low even at full setup.

Why the mount is worth the trouble

  • Highest ride sprint speed in the game, which changes how you plan every farm route.
  • Flight, so vertical terrain stops existing.
  • The Missile Launcher gear turns the mount into a weapon platform, which matters on open-world Alpha hunts.
  • It makes the World Tree, Sky Island, and Feybreak farm circuits dramatically shorter, and those are the loops you will run hundreds of times.

The World Tree circuit that Jetragon makes trivial.

The Feybreak bounty loop, also much faster on a Jetragon.

After the capture

  • Craft the ride gear immediately. A Jetragon you cannot ride is a Paldex entry.
  • Condense it if you plan to fight on it, since stars raise Health, Attack, and Defence by 5 percent each.
  • Check its passives before you invest. A traversal mount does not need perfect passives, but a combat mount does.
  • Consider breeding it for a second copy rather than re-catching. Legendary same-species breeding is a real path once you have one.

Breed a second legendary rather than re-catching one.

Did Jetragon get easier to unlock in Palworld 1.0.3?
Yes. The tech gate dropped nine levels and the materials for the Pal Gear used to ride Jetragon were reduced. You still have to capture Jetragon itself, but the gear behind it is much more reachable. v1.0.3 review
How do you catch Jetragon in Palworld?
Bring Ancient Spheres, an Ice Pal for the Dragon typing, a flying mount for repositioning, and a status effect to apply before each throw. Legendary capture rates are low, so bring far more spheres than you think you need. Sphere tiers
Is Jetragon the fastest mount in Palworld?
Yes, Jetragon has the highest ride sprint speed in the game and it flies. That combination is why it is the standard endgame traversal mount for World Tree, Sky Island, and Feybreak farm circuits.
