Palmap: Every Layer on the Free Palworld Interactive Map, Explained

Quick answer

Palmap is shorthand for a full interactive Palworld map. PalSphere's free map has 10,754 pins across 40 layers plus spawn areas for 365 Pal habitats, on both the Palpagos Islands and the World Tree.

Palmap is what players type when they want one full Palworld map. Here is every layer on the PalSphere map, how many pins it holds, and when in the game it earns a spot on your screen.

A palmap is a full interactive map of Palworld: every collectible, resource, boss, and spawn area on one zoomable screen. PalSphere's version covers the Palpagos Islands and the World Tree with 10,754 pins in 40 filter layers, plus spawn areas for 365 Pal habitats. This page is the inventory. It tells you what each layer shows, how many pins it has, and at which stage of the game it is worth turning on.

Open the full map. Fast Travel and Syndicate Towers are on by default.

The layer inventory, section by section

The filter sidebar groups layers into five sections. Each tab below follows the same order you see on the map, with the live pin count after each name.

Encounters

  • Alpha Pal (72): Alpha bosses across 71 different Pals. Useful from the first biome onward for Technology points and strong captures.
  • Bounty (156): boss pins from level 10 to level 79. Read the area before you land.
  • Predator Pal (29): aggressive roaming hunters on their own layer. Mid and late game, when you can handle a surprise fight.
  • Syndicate Tower (8): tower entrances. On by default because they anchor story progress.
  • Faction Camp (46): enemy camps. Good for gear drops and a quick fight between errands.

POIs

  • Fast Travel (151): the backbone of every route. On by default.
  • Watchtower (22): map unlock points. Activate them to reveal more of the in-game map.
  • Dungeon (189): dungeon entrances, including where Dungeon Merchants sit.
  • Sealed Realm (7): end-game challenge entrances.
  • Oil Rig (3): late-game offshore fights for crude oil and loot.
  • Skill Fruit Tree (31): trees that drop skill fruits for your Pals.
  • Hack Terminal (106): terminals worth a stop when you pass one.

Loot and Eggs

  • Fishing Spot (106): 31 rare and 75 common spots.
  • Salvage (758): coastal and river salvage for scrap and chests.
  • Wild Pal Egg (902): egg pickups for your incubators. Hover a pin to see its biome.
  • Treasure Chest (4,746): the biggest layer by far. Zoom to one biome before turning it on.
  • Elemental Lock Chest (50): 22 Water, 18 Electric, and 10 Fire locks.
  • Skill Fruit Chest (24): chests that hold skill fruits.

Resources

  • Crude Oil (177): sites for the Crude Oil Extractor.
  • Copper Ore (1,019) and Coal (359): the early and mid building grind.
  • Sulfur (170), Pure Quartz (115), and Paldium (150): mid-game crafting.
  • Chromium (238), Hexolite (275), and Meteorite (349): late-game ore.

Effigies

  • Lifmunk Effigy (157): Capture Power, the biggest Effigy track.
  • Lamball (31), Pengullet (32), Munchill (33), Rooby (32), Herbil (30), Tanzee (30), Depresso (30), and Cattiva (33): the common tracks.
  • Lunaris, Relaxaurus, and Yakumo (8 each): the rare 1.0 tracks.
  • Journal (64): story notes. They sit in this section but are not Effigies.
  • 432 Effigy pins in total across twelve types. Mimog Effigies come from captures, so they have no pins.

Which layers matter at each stage

You do not need all 40 layers. Most players use three or four at a time, and the mix changes as the game opens up. Each tile below opens a ready-made stage pack.

  • Early game: Fast Travel, Lifmunk Effigies, Wild Pal Eggs, and Copper Ore.
  • Mid game: Alpha Pals, Sulfur, Pure Quartz, Paldium, and Crude Oil.
  • Late game: Chromium, Hexolite, Meteorite, Oil Rigs, Sealed Realms, and the rare Effigy trio.
  • World Tree: switch the map to the World Tree. It holds 15 Fast Travel points, 9 Journals, 7 Alpha Pals, and all 33 Cattiva Effigies.

Using the map on desktop

  • Filters sit on the left. Collapse the rail with the panel button when you want more map.
  • The Pal habitats panel sits on the right. Search a Pal, tick Show spawn overlay, and pick day or night.
  • Scroll to zoom toward your cursor. Drag to pan.
  • Hover any pin to see its name and layer. Alpha and Bounty pins show which Pal lives there.
  • Each toggle shows its pin count, and each section header shows how many of its layers are on.

Using the map on a phone

  • Tap Filters in the header. A sheet slides up with two tabs: POIs and Habitats.
  • Use the Zoom in, Zoom out, and Fit map buttons. Drag with one finger to pan.
  • Guide links open the Filters sheet for you with the right section already expanded.
  • Close the sheet to see the map. Your picks stay on.
  • Keep phone sessions to one or two layers. Treasure Chests or Copper Ore across the whole island will slow an older phone.

What changed in 1.0 on the map

  • Lifmunk Effigies became twelve Pal Effigy types on the map, each with its own filter.
  • The World Tree has its own map. Use the switch at the top left to move between it and the Palpagos Islands.
  • Merchants are not plotted yet. The Merchant locations guide covers where each shop sits.
