How to Unlock the World Tree in Palworld 1.0

The Foot of the World Tree is where Holy Water, Paloxite, Mythical Wood, Ominous Eggs, and most endgame crafts begin. The barrier in front of the tree ignores level and gear. It only drops after a short story chain that ends with Panthalus in your active party at the World Tree terminal.

What you need before you start

• Tower progression through Palpagos and Feybreak far enough to reach Sunreach (portal at the top of Feybreak Tower).
• A strong flying or swimming mount for ocean hops between Sunreach, Deserted Islet, and the World Tree.
• Capture gear ready for a level 70 Water legendary. You must catch Panthalus, not only kill it.

1. Clear Sunreach and the Auri tower

• Enter Sunreach and shut down all six barrier devices around Auri's tower. The tornado keeps shoving you off until every device is down.
• One device sits down a hole and is easy to miss. Sweep the loop until the tornado stops.
• Enter the tower and clear the Auri and Shaolong fight.
• Talk to Auri afterward. That conversation points you at the ancient civilization researcher and starts the Panthalus trail.

2. Deserted Islet and the Echoing Flute

• Fast Travel or fly to Deserted Islet and speak with the Ancient Civilization Researcher.
• Take the Echoing Flute Schematic and the map marks for four giant whale remains.
• Collect all four Echobones: Marine Echobone, Silent Echobone, Seafoam Echobone, and Tidewind Echobone.
• Craft the Echoing Flute at a workbench, then return to the researcher with the flute in inventory.

3. Capture Panthalus

• After you hand in the flute, the nearby shrine unlocks. Interact to summon Panthalus.
• Wear the fight down, then capture with a Pal Sphere. Killing alone does not finish the chain.
• Return to the researcher and turn the quest in. You get the follow-up To the World Tree.

4. Open the barrier

• Put Panthalus in your active party.
• Travel to the World Tree entrance in the far northwest and interact with the terminal in front of the energy barrier.
• If the terminal still talks about mysterious energy, the quest is not finished or Panthalus is not active. Fix that, then try again.
• When it works, the barrier drops permanently and the Foot of the World Tree opens.

• Unlock The Verdant Rootpath and keep grabbing Foot of the World Tree Fast Travel points.
• Stock World Tree Holy Water from Healing Springs and chests before you touch Paloxite or Mythical Wood.
• Or hatch an Ominous Egg for a World Tree passive so gather nodes stay lootable while that Pal rules apply.
