Mysterious Mushroom Palworld: How to Farm It and What It Makes

Quick answer

Hunt Shroomer Noct first, then Mycora and Dualith Noct on the World Tree. Mysterious Mushroom is not a crop, not a map node, and not a Ranch drop.

Mysterious Mushroom is not a crop, not a map node, and not a Ranch drop. You get it by hunting specific Pals. Here is who to hunt, where they live, and the 50 mushrooms three crafts ask for.

Mysterious Mushroom is the scarce one of Palworld's three mushrooms. The item text says it is not suitable for eating raw, and eating it makes you get hungry faster. Nobody farms it for food. You farm it for three crafts: Mysterious Mushroom Juice, the Shroomer Noct Saddle, and the Growth Acceleration Bell. One of each costs 50 Mysterious Mushrooms.

This page is the single-item farm plan. If you want every mushroom type side by side, the full mushrooms guide covers ordinary Mushroom and Cavern Mushroom too. Here we only care about getting Mysterious Mushroom into your chest as fast as possible.

Where Mysterious Mushroom does not come from

Most wasted time on this item comes from farming the wrong source. We checked every source PalSphere tracks before writing this list.

  • Not a crop. The Plantations cover Berry, Wheat, Tomato, Lettuce, Potato, Carrot, and Onion, and there is no mushroom seed item, so even the Ancient Farm cannot grow it.
  • Not a map node. The interactive map has no mushroom gathering layer.
  • Not a Ranch product. Shroomer's partner skill drops Mushroom or Cavern Mushroom on a Ranch, never Mysterious Mushroom.
  • Not an expedition, treasure chest, or Oil Rig reward in the loot PalSphere tracks.
  • Not the same item as Mushroom or Cavern Mushroom. Recipes will not accept a substitute.

The Pals to hunt

Players consistently report Mysterious Mushroom from defeating or capturing three Pals. PalSphere has not confirmed exact drop rates for them yet, so this page gives no percentages. Track your own count after the first few kills and adjust the route.

Farm route, step by step

  • 1. Pick your target. Juice alone needs 20. All three crafts need 50.
  • 2. Open the Shroomer Noct habitat map and fly to the densest patch.
  • 3. Clear every Shroomer Noct in the patch. Capturing rolls the same loot as defeating.
  • 4. Count your Mysterious Mushrooms after about five kills to see your real rate.
  • 5. If the rate is poor, add Mycora on your next World Tree trip.
  • 6. Keep one Shroomer Noct for the base. Its partner skill helps with the Juice downside below.

Ingredient

Mushrooms that are not suitable for eating raw. Eating makes one more prone to feeling hungry.

Mysterious Mushroom Juice

Mysterious Mushroom Juice

Mushroom juice known for its incredibly uplifting effect. Drinking it greatly boosts work speed for a period of time, but drastically decreases SAN value.

Growth Acceleration Bell

An accessory that slightly raises Pal EXP.

Every recipe that spends Mysterious Mushroom.
  • Mysterious Mushroom Juice: 20 Mysterious Mushroom, 10 Beautiful Flower, 10 Horn, 5 Bone, 5 Aquatic Pal Fluids.
  • Crafted at a Production Assembly Line II, Advanced Workshop, or Ancient Workbench.
  • The item text says it greatly boosts work speed for a while but drastically lowers SAN.
  • Shroomer Noct Saddle: 20 Mysterious Mushroom, 20 Leather, 30 Fiber, 10 Refined Ingot, 30 Paldium Fragment.
  • Pal Gear Workbench, Technology 39.
  • Growth Acceleration Bell: 10 Mysterious Mushroom, 25 Ingot, 30 Paldium Fragment, 3 Ancient Civilization Parts.
  • Needs the Growth Acceleration Bell Schematic first. The accessory slightly raises Pal EXP.
  • The +1 and +2 Bells have no crafting recipe in our data, so only the base Bell spends mushrooms.

Priority order for your mushrooms

  • 1. Shroomer Noct Saddle if you ride one. It unlocks earliest, at Technology 39, and makes the hunt faster.
  • 2. Growth Acceleration Bell once you own the schematic. A permanent EXP accessory for 10 mushrooms.
  • 3. Mysterious Mushroom Juice last. It is a consumable, so every bottle is another 20 mushrooms gone.

Common mistakes

  • Putting Shroomer on a Ranch and waiting for Mysterious Mushrooms. It only yields the ordinary kinds.
  • Eating Mysterious Mushrooms for food. They barely fill you and make hunger worse.
  • Chugging Juice with no SAN plan. Shroomer Noct at the base slows SAN loss for allies there by 10-15 percent.
  • Selling stacks early. With no crop or node, every mushroom costs a hunt to replace.

Quick answers

  • Source: defeating or capturing Shroomer Noct, Mycora, and Dualith Noct.
  • Plantable: no.

Every mushroom type, including ordinary and Cavern Mushroom.
