Palworld Technology Points: 1,413 to Unlock the Whole Regular Tree

Quick answer

1,413 technology points to unlock all 537 regular technologies in 1.0. Ancient Technologies are a separate currency, and unlocking all 51 of those costs 182 Ancient Technology Points on top.

Palworld 1.0 has 588 technologies. The 537 regular ones cost 1,413 technology points, the level cap is 80, and levelling alone will not get you there.

Palworld 1.0 carries 588 technologies in total. 537 of them are regular unlocks costing 1,413 technology points between them, and the other 51 are Ancient Technologies on a separate 182 point budget. The highest unlock level in the tree is 80, which matches the player level cap, so the tree is designed to be finished rather than pruned.

The catch is timing. Points arrive one at a time as you level, and the tree asks for 1,413 of them, so on a first playthrough you are always short. That makes the tech tree a prioritisation problem for roughly sixty levels and a shopping list for the last twenty.

Two currencies, two sources

  • Technology points come from player levels and from Technology Manuals. 537 regular unlocks, 1,413 points total.
  • Ancient Technology Points come from boss kills. 51 unlocks, 182 points total.
  • They are not interchangeable. A full regular tree does not help you afford the Wing Pack, and a stack of Ancient Points cannot buy a Cooking Pot.
  • Both are permanent. Nothing in 1.0 refunds or respecs, so a wasted point stays wasted.

All 51 ancient unlocks, the 182 point total, and the boss gates.

Manuscripts and manuals are the point source players forget exists.

What to buy first on a real playthrough

The tree rewards infrastructure over gear early. A Pal that mines while you are offline compounds. A slightly better crossbow does not. That is the whole heuristic, and it holds until roughly level 40 when weapon tiers start mattering for tower clears.

  • Levels 1 to 15: Feed Box at level 4, Ranch at level 5, Statue of Power at level 9. Base plumbing before anything else.
  • Levels 15 to 30: Cooking Pot at level 17, Cooler Box at level 13, then the first real weapon tier you can feed with ammo.
  • Levels 26 onward: Power Generator at level 26 for 3 points, or the Human-powered Generator at the same level for 1 if you are point-starved.
  • Levels 30 to 50: cake recipes, Electric Kitchen at 41, and the storage and logistics upgrades that stop you hand-carrying ore.
  • Levels 50 plus: the furnace and workbench ladder, then the Ancient Kitchen at 70 and Ancient Power Generator at 75 as pure convenience.

Early regular unlocks that pay for themselves within an hour.

Do not sleep on the level curve

Because points track levels, technology progress is really levelling progress. The fastest legitimate levelling loops in 1.0 are expedition throughput, dungeon boss clears, and capture experience with the right effigy stat, and all three are better uses of an evening than farming a resource you could buy.

  • Relaxaurus Effigies raise the experience bonus and there are only eight of them on the map. Collect those early rather than late.
  • Expeditions run while you are offline and pay experience alongside materials.
  • Capture experience scales with variety, not repetition. Ten new species beats ten of the same one.
  • Do not grind mobs for levels. The tree does not care how you got there and the other loops pay materials as well.

The levelling loops that actually move the needle in 1.0.

Common mistakes

  • Buying every weapon tier as it unlocks. Weapons are ammo commitments, and a tier you cannot supply is a dead point.
  • Ignoring the generator line until level 50. Electric structures are a large slice of the mid tree and they all need power.
  • Assuming the tree is finishable early. 1,413 points against a level 80 cap means late game, not mid game.
  • Confusing the two currencies. Points spent looking for an ancient unlock in the regular tab is the single most common support question.

How many technologies are in Palworld?
588 in total: 537 regular technologies and 51 Ancient Technologies. The highest unlock level in the tree is 80, which is also the player level cap.
Can you respec technology points in Palworld?
No. There is no refund or respec in 1.0, so every point is permanent. That is why the early priority is base infrastructure rather than weapon tiers you cannot yet supply with ammo.
What technology should you unlock first in Palworld?
Base plumbing. Feed Box at level 4, Ranch at level 5, and Statue of Power at level 9, then the Cooking Pot at level 17. Infrastructure compounds while you are away from the game and a marginal weapon upgrade does not. Early base Pals
