Palworld Power Generators: All Six Tiers and When to Electrify

Quick answer

Six. Human-powered Generator and Power Generator both at level 26, Alpha Wave Generator at 41, Beta Wave Generator at 46, Large Power Generator at 50, and Ancient Power Generator at 75. Only the Large Power Generator costs Ancient Technology Points.

There are six generators in Palworld 1.0 and two of them unlock at exactly the same level for wildly different prices. Pick wrong and you spend three technology points on a machine a Pal could have replaced for one.

Palworld 1.0 has six power generators. The Human-powered Generator and the Power Generator both unlock at level 26, but the first costs 1 technology point and the second costs 3. After that come the Alpha Wave Generator at level 41 for 3, the Beta Wave Generator at level 46 for 3, the Large Power Generator at level 50 for 4 Ancient Points, and the Ancient Power Generator at level 75 for 5 regular points.

Only one of the six is an Ancient Technology, and that is worth knowing before you budget: the Large Power Generator at level 50 spends the scarce currency, while the Ancient Power Generator at level 75 despite the name spends ordinary technology points.

The six generators

  • Human-powered Generator, level 26, 1 technology point. Needs a Pal on the wheel constantly, which is a staffing cost rather than a build cost.
  • Power Generator, level 26, 3 technology points. The standard base generator and the one most players actually build.
  • Alpha Wave Generator, level 41, 3 technology points.
  • Beta Wave Generator, level 46, 3 technology points.
  • Large Power Generator, level 50, 4 Ancient Technology Points. The only generator on the ancient budget.
  • Ancient Power Generator, level 75, 5 technology points. Endgame throughput on the regular tree.

Power Generator

Level 26, 3 points

Electric Pals at the base can now store electricity, allowing the use of electric facilities.

Large Power Generator

Large Power Generator

Level 50, 4 ancient points

A power generator fueled by Electric Pals. Larger and with improved power generation efficiency.

Ancient Power Generator

Ancient Power Generator

Level 75, 5 points

A highly efficient power generator restored from lost ancient technology. It produces massive amounts of electricity, but is prone to overheating while in operation. It requires Pals with high-level Generating Electricity and any level of Watering suitability.

The generator line. Note the level 26 pair costs 1 point and 3 points respectively.

Why electrify at all

Power is not a standalone system. It exists because a chunk of the mid and late tree only runs on it, and if you skip the generator line those unlocks sit in your tree doing nothing. Electric Egg Incubator at level 36, Electric Kitchen at 41, Electric Cooler at 42, and Large-scale Electric Egg Incubator at 58 are all downstream of having a working grid.

  • Electric Egg Incubator, level 36. The first unlock that makes players regret skipping generators.
  • Electric Kitchen, level 41. Faster cooking throughput for food buffs and cake.
  • Electric Cooler, level 42. Better decay reduction than the Refrigerator.
  • Large-scale Electric Egg Incubator, level 58. Multi-egg hatching plus temperature handling.

Staffing the grid

Generators run on the Electricity work suitability and they need someone on shift, not a fast Pal wandering past. This is the classic base failure: a beautiful electric kitchen that never cooks because the one Electricity Pal wandered off to water a berry plot. Fix it with priorities, not with more Pals.

  • Assign at least two Electricity-suitable Pals so a shift change does not brown out the base.
  • Set the Monitoring Stand so Electricity outranks Watering and Planting on a production base.
  • Check sanity. A Pal with low SAN works slower and eventually stops, and generators are one of the jobs where that is immediately visible.
  • Nocturnal Pals cover the night shift. If your grid dies while you sleep, that is the fix.

Work priority

Which one to actually build

  • Point-starved at level 26: take the Human-powered Generator for 1 point and pay in Pal shifts instead.
  • Comfortable at level 26: take the Power Generator for 3 points and skip the staffing headache.
  • At level 50, weigh the Large Power Generator against your ancient budget. Four points is the same as Ability Glasses or a Guild Chest.
  • At level 75, the Ancient Power Generator is the correct endgame answer and it is on the regular tree, so it costs you nothing scarce.

Common questions

Short answers for searches that should land here, with links to the item, map pin, or related guide when you need more detail.

How many power generators are in Palworld?
Six. Human-powered Generator and Power Generator both at level 26, Alpha Wave Generator at 41, Beta Wave Generator at 46, Large Power Generator at 50, and Ancient Power Generator at 75. Only the Large Power Generator costs Ancient Technology Points. Technology tree
Is the Human-powered Generator worth it in Palworld?
If you are short on technology points at level 26, yes. It costs 1 point against the Power Generator's 3, and the trade is that a Pal has to stay on the wheel. If your base is already short-staffed, pay the 3 points instead.
Do you need electricity in Palworld?
For a serious base, yes. The Electric Egg Incubator at level 36, Electric Kitchen at 41, Electric Cooler at 42, and Large-scale Electric Egg Incubator at 58 all require a working grid, so skipping generators leaves a slice of the mid tree unusable.
Why does my generator keep stopping in Palworld?
Staffing or sanity. Generators run on the Electricity work suitability, so a Pal without it will ignore the job, and a Pal with low SAN slows down and eventually stops. Assign two Electricity Pals and raise Electricity above gardening on the Monitoring Stand. Best Electricity Pals
