Palworld Plasteel Craft Guide: Oil, Ore, and the Electric Furnace

One Plasteel takes 2 Crude Oil and 5 Ore, refined at the Electric Furnace which unlocks at level 44, or at the Gigantic Furnace and Ancient Furnace later. Ore is everywhere. Crude Oil is not, and there are only 177 crude oil pins on the map, so oil supply is what actually caps your Plasteel output.

That single ratio explains why Plasteel feels expensive despite a cheap-looking recipe. Five ore is trivial once you have a mining base. Two oil, repeated hundreds of times, is a logistics project.

Fix the oil supply first

• 177 crude oil pins on the map. Filter that layer and pick a cluster you can reach with one fast travel hop.
• Crude Oil Extractors automate the supply and are the difference between a trickle and a production line.
• Extractors need power, which means Electricity work suitability Pals, which is why Orserk shows up in every late base list.
• Build the extractor base near the oil, not near your main base. Hauling oil across the map is the classic mistake.

The furnace tiers

Electric Furnace at level 44 for five technology points is the entry point and the one most players use. Gigantic Furnace at level 58 and Ancient Furnace at level 66 also smelt Plasteel, and they matter because they smelt other things too. If you are close to level 58, wait and build the Gigantic Furnace rather than building both.

• Electric Furnace: level 44, the first station that can make Plasteel.
• Gigantic Furnace: level 58, also handles Hexolite and bulk smelting.
• Ancient Furnace: level 66, the only station for Soralite Ingot and Paloxite Ingot.
• All three need Kindling Pals staffed. A furnace with nobody on kindling is a decorative box.

What Plasteel is for

Plasteel is the armour tier below Hexolite and above Pal Metal. The game describes Plasteel Armor as combining exceptional defense with reduced weight, and there are heat, cold, and lightweight variants on top of the base piece. Plasteel also appears in sphere recipes, which is where casual players first notice they need it.

• Ultimate Sphere: 10 Paldium Fragment, 5 Pal Metal Ingot, 10 Hardwood, and 1 Plasteel.

• Each armour variant needs its own schematic learned first, so check your unlocks before mass smelting.
