How to Get Plasteel in Palworld (Crude Oil Recipe)

Plasteel unlocks at Technology level 50. Craft it in an Electric Furnace with 2 Crude Oil and 5 Ore per bar. Treat it like Hexolite one tier earlier: farm the raw mats on the map, smelt continuously, then spend on armor and weapons.

Most Plasteel stalls come from Crude Oil, not Ore. Ore nodes are everywhere early. Oil needs extractors on field nodes or burst farming from Oil Rigs. Build the oil line before you craft your first Electric Furnace batch, or you will run out mid-recipe.

Where to find Crude Oil

• Place a Crude Oil Extractor (later High-pressure Extractor) on an oil field node.
• Oil Rigs dump Crude Oil as clear loot when you want a spike instead of waiting on pumps.
• Pin oil fields and Oil Rigs together before a mid-game base move.

Where to find Ore

• Ore is the early copper rock on the Ore map filter.
• Caves and open nodes across the early islands keep Electric Furnaces fed.
• Expeditions from Crescent Moon Shore through Mount Obsidian also dump Ore stacks.

Smelt Plasteel

Electric Furnaces eat power continuously. Queue Plasteel in batches after a Crude Oil extractor run fills a chest, not one bar at a time while oil trickles in.

• Recipe: 2 Crude Oil + 5 Ore → 1 Plasteel.
• Station: Electric Furnace (unlocks before Plasteel in the tech tree).
• Keep Kindling or power online so the craft queue never stalls while extractors fill Crude Oil chests.
• Ore is rarely the bottleneck. Redirect mine Pals if furnaces idle waiting on oil.

What Plasteel is used for

Plasteel sits between refined metal and Hexolite on the gear ladder. You will craft Plasteel Armor before you ever touch Hexolite plates. Computers and assembly inputs also chew through bars, so keep furnaces running even after your armor set is done.

• Plasteel Armor, Plasteel Helmet, and heat / cold / lightweight Plasteel armor variants.
• Mid-late guns: Gatling Gun, FlameThrower, Grenade Launcher, Guided Missile family, Beam Sword.
• Computers and other Electric Furnace / assembly inputs that list Plasteel.
• Mobility pieces such as Double Air Dash Boots and related accessories.
• Several Hexolite-tier crafts still ask for Plasteel alongside Hexolite. Farm both mats once you unlock Gigantic Furnace.

Base setup tips

• Place extractors on oil fields with a filtered Crude Oil chest and kindling or power online.
• Keep a parallel Ore chest fed from mine Pals or expedition returns.
• Electric Furnaces need power: Jolthog-line Pals or generators before you queue long Plasteel batches.
