Palworld Key Spheres Explained: All Eight and What They Unlock
Quick answer
There are eight Key Spheres in Palworld 1.0. Seven are named after deadly sins (Pride, Envy, Greed, Sloth, Gluttony, Lust, and Wrath) and the eighth is the Key Sphere of Original Sin.
There are eight Key Spheres in Palworld 1.0. They are the only reason the tower ladder still matters after the credits, and they cannot be crafted, bought, or farmed from wild Pals.
Palworld 1.0 has eight Key Spheres. Seven are named after deadly sins, Pride, Envy, Greed, Sloth, Gluttony, Lust, and Wrath, and the eighth is the Key Sphere of Original Sin. They live in the key items tab, they are not consumables you can stockpile, and there is no recipe, merchant, or drop table that produces them. You get them by clearing story content and you spend them at the World Tree.
That is the short answer. The reason players search for it is usually the opposite problem: they are standing at a sealed World Tree door with a partly filled key items tab and no idea which fight they skipped. So the useful part of this page is the checklist, not the lore.

Where Key Spheres come from
Key Spheres are story rewards tied to the syndicate tower ladder and the World Tree chain that follows it. Our map extract carries eight tower travel points, which is the same count as the sphere set, and that is not a coincidence. If a sphere is missing, the fight that grants it is almost always a tower you fast travelled past rather than a hidden chest you failed to find.
- Clear towers in story order on Normal. Hard Mode rematches do not hand out a second copy, so grinding Hard for keys is wasted time.
- Check the key items tab after every tower clear rather than at the end. Noticing a gap eight hours later means re-walking the whole ladder to work out which door you skipped.
- Key Spheres are account-side story items. They do not sit in a base chest and they cannot be dropped, traded away, or lost to a death.
- If your key items tab looks full but a seal still will not open, the blocker is usually a guardian clear rather than a sphere. Those are separate gates.

Tower boss deep divesWhat Key Spheres actually unlock
Key Spheres exist to break World Tree seals. They are the story-side half of the World Tree gate, and the other half is the guardian clears. Having every sphere with no guardian clears leaves you locked out, and the reverse is also true, which is why the community answer to "my seal will not open" is always to check both lists rather than one.

Unlock checklistCommon mistakes
- Trying to buy them. No merchant in 1.0 stocks Key Spheres, including the Black Marketeer and the bounty shop.
- Confusing Key Spheres with Pal Spheres. Different tab, different purpose, and none of the eleven capture sphere tiers has anything to do with the World Tree.
- Skipping a tower because you out-levelled it. The level check is not the gate, the clear is.
- Assuming Hard Mode is required. Hard rematches pay in hats, Training Crystals, and schematic rolls, not keys.
Capture sphere tiers are the other kind of sphere players search for. Different system entirely.
