Palworld Best Armor and Shields: Hexolite, Resistance Tiers, and Trade-offs
Quick answer
Hexolite Armor. At legendary tier it gives 754 defence, 2,275 health, and 80,000 durability with Heat Resistant Lv. 1 and Cold Resistant Lv. 1 built in. Its resistance and lightweight variants reach 780 defence but drop to 72,000 durability.
Legendary Hexolite Armor gives 754 defence and 2,275 health. The Cold Resistant version gives 780 defence but drops 8,000 durability. There is no strictly best chest piece in 1.0, only a trade you pick.
Hexolite Armor is the best body armour in Palworld 1.0. At legendary tier it carries 754 defence, 2,275 health, and 80,000 durability, and it comes with Heat Resistant Lv. 1 and Cold Resistant Lv. 1 built in, so you do not need a separate climate set. Its resistance variants trade durability for a bit more defence: legendary Cold Resistant Hexolite runs 780 defence and Cold Resistant Lv. 2, but drops to 72,000 durability.
Our extract carries 107 armour entries in total, of which 24 are body armour lines and 10 are head armour. The rest is cosmetic hats and the eight shields. That means the actual decision space is small: pick a body line, pick a helmet, pick a shield tier.

Hexolite Armor
Armor
Armor made of Hexolite. Possesses overwhelming durability and defense.

Lightweight Hexolite Armor
Armor
Improved Hexolite Armor. Increases carrying capacity.

Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor
Armor
Improved Hexolite Armor. Useful for surviving in cold climates.

Pal Metal Armor
Armor
Armor made from Pal Metal Ingot. High defense, but extremely heavy. Equipment for a hero, it exudes bravery.
The lightweight variant is the sleeper pick
Lightweight Hexolite Armor matches the resistance variants on defence at 780, keeps the dual Lv. 1 climate coverage, and adds Max Carrying Capacity Lv. 2. For anyone who spends their evenings hauling ore, Paloxite, or Mythical Wood, that carrying capacity line is worth more than a resistance step, and the defence is identical.
- Farming and hauling sessions: Lightweight Hexolite. The carry capacity is a real throughput increase.
- Feybreak or glacier content: Cold Resistant Hexolite for the Lv. 2 step.
- Volcano content: Heat Resistant Hexolite for the same reason.
- Everything else, including raids and towers: plain Hexolite for the extra 8,000 durability and fewer repair trips.
Hexolite Quartz is the input. Here is the circuit that supplies it.
Hexolite circuitHelmets and the head slot
Ten head armour lines exist and the top one is the Hexolite Helmet at 455 defence, 1,040 health, and 80,000 durability on legendary. The head slot has no resistance effects in the extract, which simplifies the choice considerably: take the best defence number you can craft and stop thinking about it. Every other hat in the 107 entry armour list is cosmetic.
Cosmetic hats are a separate system. Swap looks without losing your stat rolls.
Dresser guideShields: eight tiers, one decision
There are eight shields in 1.0: Common, Advanced, Mega, Giga, Ultra, Hyper, Legendary, and Ancient. Our extract does not carry per-tier shield stats, so treat the naming as the ladder and check the in-game item description for the current values. The practical guidance does not change: always wear the highest tier you can craft, because a shield that absorbs a hit is worth more than any defence roll.

Common Shield
Armor
Strange shield made with Paldium technology. It automatically repairs itself after not taking damage for a while.

Hyper Shield
Armor
Strange shield made with Paldium technology. It automatically repairs itself after not taking damage for a while. Through repeated testing, the highest quality has been achieved.

Legendary Shield
Armor

Ancient Shield
Armor
A shield created using lost ancient technology. It automatically repairs itself after not taking damage for a while. Its performance is said to be impossible to reproduce in the modern era.
- Shields regenerate, armour durability does not. A higher shield tier reduces repair frequency indirectly.
- Check the item page for live numbers before committing materials, since shield values are the one gap in our stat coverage.
- Elemental resistance rings stack with armour resistance. For a specific boss element, the ring is the cheaper lever.
- V1 Armor at level 32 and V2 Armor at level 56 are Ancient Technologies and a separate line from the crafted ladder above.

Short answers for searches that should land here, with links to the item, map pin, or related guide when you need more detail.
- What is the best armor in Palworld 1.0?
- Hexolite Armor. At legendary tier it gives 754 defence, 2,275 health, and 80,000 durability with Heat Resistant Lv. 1 and Cold Resistant Lv. 1 built in. Its resistance and lightweight variants reach 780 defence but drop to 72,000 durability. Item database
- Do you still need heat and cold resistant armor in Palworld 1.0?
- Less than you used to. From the Refined Metal tier upward, the base armour already carries Heat Resistant Lv. 1 and Cold Resistant Lv. 1, so the dedicated variants exist to push one of those to Lv. 2 rather than to grant resistance at all.
- How many shields are in Palworld?
- Eight: Common, Advanced, Mega, Giga, Ultra, Hyper, Legendary, and Ancient. Our extract does not carry per-tier shield values, so check the in-game item description for exact numbers and simply wear the highest tier you can craft.
- Is Lightweight Hexolite Armor better than regular Hexolite?
- For hauling and farming, yes. It matches the resistance variants at 780 defence, keeps dual Lv. 1 climate coverage, and adds Max Carrying Capacity Lv. 2. The cost is 8,000 durability against the plain version, which means slightly more frequent repairs. Item database
