Same-Type Attack Bonus (STAB) Math & Elemental Synergies

The game hides the damage multiplier you get for matching a Pal's element to its active skills.

Same-Type Attack Bonus (STAB) rewards you for using skills that match your Pal's element. A Fire Pal using a Fire skill deals more than the same Pal using a neutral skill of equal listed power, and the game never shows this multiplier on the skill card.

The multiplier

Matching element to skill applies a flat percentage boost on top of the skill's base power, then type effectiveness is applied against the target. That is why a slightly weaker on-element move often out-damages a stronger off-element one, the STAB multiplier stacks before the matchup calculation.

Cross-element status loops

Synergies go beyond raw type charts. Applying a Water attack to soak a target first can amplify follow-up Lightning damage, and status setups like this dynamically multiply subsequent hits. Building a team around a status opener plus a matching finisher out-scales single-element brute force.

Match Pals to on-element skills for maximum STAB.
