Palworld Merchant Currencies: Which Wallet Opens Which Shop

Quick answer

No. Seven item shops take Gold Coin, but the Arena Vendor takes Battle Tickets, the Medal Vendor takes Medals, and the Bounty Vendor takes Successful Bounty Tokens.

Palworld has four shop wallets: Gold Coin, Battle Tickets, Medals, and Successful Bounty Tokens. Bring the wrong one and the shop is useless. Here is how to earn each and what to buy first.

Most Palworld merchants take Gold Coin, but the best permanent upgrades sit behind three other wallets. Battle Tickets open the Arena Vendor. Medals open the Medal Vendor. Successful Bounty Tokens open the Bounty Vendor. Each one is earned a different way, and none of them convert into the others.

This page is the wallet map: what each currency is, where it comes from, and the first things worth buying. The Merchant Locations guide has every stock list and where each merchant stands.

Wallet cheat sheet

  • Gold Coin: Village, Desert, Volcano, and Dungeon Merchants, plus the Traveling Caravan, Wandering Merchant, and Vagrant Trader. Pal merchants and the Black Marketeer trade for Gold too.
  • Battle Ticket: Arena Vendor only, 53 items. Item text says you earn them by winning solo matches in the arena.
  • Medals: Medal Vendor only, 37 items. The coin the Medal Merchant collects is the Dog Coin.
  • Successful Bounty Token: Bounty Vendor, 18 items. The Vigilante Bounty Officer at Fisherman's Point, Small Settlement, and Duneshelter trades them.
  • Successful Hard Bounty Token: from the harder bounty tier. Treat it as its own wallet.

Gold Coin: the everyday wallet

Gold Coin is the only currency most players think about. Item text says it can be exchanged for items or Pals with merchants. Seven item shops take it, with 8 items at the Vagrant Trader and 109 at the Traveling Caravan.

  • How to earn it:
  • Ranch a Mau. She sometimes digs up Gold Coin and keeps working at night.
  • Ranch a Vixy. Dig Here! can turn up Gold Coin between spheres and arrows.
  • Sell spare materials. Wool, Egg, and Milk list at 200 Gold, Flame Organ at 300.
  • Late game, the Gold Coin Assembly Line unlocks at level 73 for 4 points. It drains Pal SAN and warns it may draw scrutiny from the PIDF.
  • Top buys:
  • Leather at 200 Gold from all four fixed Gold shops plus the Caravan and Wandering Merchant.
  • Aquatic Pal Fluids at 300 Gold from the Dungeon Merchant, Traveling Caravan, and Wandering Merchant.
  • Pal Sphere, Mega Sphere, and Giga Sphere from the Vagrant Trader when you run dry mid-hunt.

Special currency wallets

Battle Tickets: the Arena wallet

Battle Tickets come from winning solo arena matches, and only the Arena Vendor spends them. Everything on the shelf is priced in tickets, from 30 up to 1300.

  • Element skill fruits: 30-45 tickets. The cheapest way to teach a specific move.
  • Implants such as Infinite Stamina and Runner: 50 tickets.
  • Pal Reverser: 35 tickets. Flips a Pal's gender for breeding.
  • Life Fruit, Power Fruit, and Stout Fruit: 100 tickets each.
  • Late schematics like Core Eject Shotgun or Marksman Revolver: 1300 tickets.

Medals and Dog Coins: the Medal Vendor

The Medal Vendor lists prices in Medals. Dog Coin item text says there are people who collect them, and the Medal Merchant is that collector. The vendor is the only counter that sells work suitability handbooks.

  • Where Dog Coins come from:
  • Elemental lock chests. Crescent Moon Shore and Desiccated Dunes chests roll 10-15 Dog Coins almost every time. Sunreach and Foot of the World Tree chests roll 20-30.
  • Rank 2 salvage spots on the coast.
  • Expedition Station missions that list Dog Coin in their rewards.
  • Mimog usually carries them, but item text says butchering a Mimog does not give any.
  • Top buys:
  • Work handbooks at 300 Medals each, such as Applied Transporting Handbook I. Each one permanently adds +1 to that work suitability.
  • Burden, Might, Speed, and Stamina Remedy at 200 Medals.
  • Life Fruit and Power Fruit at 200 Medals. Poor value next to the Bounty Vendor.
  • Lily's Spear schematics at 600 and 840 Medals.

We have not confirmed any repeatable Dog Coin farm that runs forever, so plan around chests, salvage, and expeditions rather than chasing an infinite loop.

Bounty Tokens: the best value per fruit

Defeat a bounty target and you receive a Successful Bounty Token. Item text says to hand it to a Vigilante Bounty Officer in villages or towns. All three useful officers carry the same stock.

  • Life Fruit, Power Fruit, and Stout Fruit: 25 tokens each.
  • Ripe Starfruit: 50 tokens. Raises a Pal's condenser rank by one.
  • Combat implants such as Artisan, Musclehead, and Vanguard: 15 tokens. Kinship Peach: 15.
  • Advanced Technical Manual: 5 tokens. Pal Reverser: 7.
  • Gold Coin: 1 per token. Only when you are desperate for cash.

Spending priority by wallet

Life Fruit is on three shelves. It costs 25 Successful Bounty Tokens, 100 Battle Tickets, or 200 Medals. Power Fruit follows the same pattern. So fruits come from the Bounty Vendor, Medals go to handbooks, and Battle Tickets go to skill fruits and implants.

  • Gold Coin: spheres and Leather first, Aquatic Pal Fluids only until a Water Pal ranch covers them.
  • Battle Tickets: skill fruits for your main fighters, then movement implants.
  • Medals: the handbook for whichever work job your base is short on.
  • Bounty Tokens: stat fruits in batches of 25, Ripe Starfruit only for a Pal already at condenser rank three.

Common currency mistakes

  • Trying to spend a boss Bounty Token. Tokens like the Anubis Bounty Token are trophies. Simply owning one raises your team's stats, and no shop takes it.
  • Buying fruit with Medals. The same Life Fruit costs 25 bounty tokens instead.
  • Butchering Mimog for Dog Coins. Item text says it does not work.
  • Cashing Bounty Tokens into Gold at 1 each. Almost anything else on that shelf is better value.
  • Traveling to an officer with 23 tokens. Wait for a clean batch of 25.
