Palworld Depresso Suit: Wannabe Depresso Islander Quest and Materials

The Depresso Suit is a two-piece player cosmetic handed out by an NPC called the Wannabe Depresso Islander. The exchange is simple and the shopping list is not: give 20 High Quality Cloth and 100 Venom Glands, receive the costume. Then, in the words of the NPC himself, if you have got an antique dresser you can glam up your gear without changing its function.

The exchange

• Quest giver: the Wannabe Depresso Islander, a unique NPC.
• Requirement: 20 High Quality Cloth.
• Requirement: 100 Venom Glands.
• Reward: the Depresso costume set, wearable as-is or applied as an appearance override.

The Depresso Helmet also slightly reduces incoming Dark damage, which is a pleasant surprise for a costume piece. It is not a reason to wear it over real armor, but it does mean the head slot is not a pure fashion sacrifice if you are running the look straight.

High Quality Cloth

20 required

High Quality Cloth woven from a large amount of Wool. Required to create high quality armor. Can be crafted at High-Quality Workbench.

Venom Gland

100 required

Material obtainable from poisonous Pals. Can be used to make Poison Arrow and more.

The 20 High Quality Cloth

High Quality Cloth is craftable, which makes this half of the quest a pure logistics problem. Each one takes 10 Wool and 1 Leather at a High Quality Workbench or better, so 20 cloth means 200 Wool and 20 Leather. A wool ranch clears that quietly in the background.

• Craft at the High Quality Workbench, Advanced Workshop, Production Assembly Line, or Ancient Workbench.
• 200 Wool total, which is what a ranch of Lamball, Melpaca, or Woolipop produces while you do something else.
• Sibelyx also makes High Quality Cloth directly on a ranch, skipping the Wool step entirely.

The 100 Venom Glands

This is the real cost of the quest. Venom Glands come from poisonous Pals, and grinding 100 by hunting is miserable. Ranch them instead. Depresso itself sometimes drops Venom Gland when assigned to a ranch, which is a genuinely funny way to pay for a Depresso costume.

• Depresso on a ranch sometimes drops Venom Gland. Assign several.
• Caprity Noct also drops Venom Gland from its back on a ranch, and it feeds your party Hunger while it is in your team.
• If you would rather fight for them, Menasting drops 5 to 10 per Alpha kill, which is the best per-kill rate in the game.

Wearing it without giving up your stats

Worn directly, the Depresso set is a costume, which means you are trading your real armor's defence for a look. The Antique Dresser fixes that. Keep your best Ancient Armor equipped for the numbers, then override the appearance to the Depresso set at the dresser. The NPC tells you this himself when you turn the quest in.

Worth doing?

If you already run a ranch, yes. The Wool half is free and the Venom Gland half is a background task rather than a grind. If you have no ranch, build one first, because hunting 100 Venom Glands by hand is the single least fun way to earn a costume in Palworld.
