Palworld 1.0 Cake Guide: Recipes, Mutation Odds, Which Cake to Use

Quick answer

Basic Cake wants Milk from a Mozzarina Ranch (or a Village Merchant buy). Special Cake needs even more Milk, so plan ranch seats before a long breed.

Every breeding cake does a different job. Pick Cake for basics, Vegetable for volume, Extravagant Vegetable for mutations, and Special when you need four parent passives.

Put cake in the Breeding Farm chest. The cake type decides mutation chance, how many eggs appear per cycle, talent bumps, and whether parent passives fill all four slots. Mutation is rolled when the egg is created, not when it hatches.

  • Effect: inherit four parent passives (fills the passive slots from parents). Mutation stays 1%.
  • Use after your parent line is ready and you want the passive package locked before a mutation grind.

Vegetable Cake vs Extravagant Vegetable Cake

  • Vegetable: two eggs at 1% each ≈ 1.99% chance of at least one Mutated Egg per batch.
  • Extravagant: one egg at 3%. Higher per cake when mutation is the bottleneck, plus talent bumps.
  • If you can afford Extravagant volume, use it for mutation farms. Use Vegetable when plantations cannot keep up with Cotton Candy and late veggies.
