Best Transport Pals in Palworld (1.0 Rankings)

Quick answer

Best Transport pals in Palworld: Early–End hauler rankings with Helzephyr, Eidrolon, Wumpo’s buff, and Monitoring Stand locks so chests actually empty.

Transport is the job most players optimize wrong. It only beats Harvesting and Cooling, so almost every other suitability cuts in line first.

Transport sits near the very bottom of work task priority. Gathering, Generating, Handiwork, Kindling, and Mining all beat hauling, so dedicated transporters, Pals whose only other suitability loses to Transport anyway, or a hard lock move more goods than a higher-level multi-role mule that never leaves its other station.

On the default work task priority chart, Transport sits at priority 17 (lower number wins). That single number explains most “why won’t this Pal do their job?” tickets: competing suitabilities with a better (lower) rank steal the worker before Transport ever starts.

How Transport actually fails at bases

Transport beats only Harvesting World-Spawn (18) and Cooling (19) on the chart. Everything else, including Kindling, Handiwork, Mining, and Logging, cuts in line first. A multi-role Pal with high Transport suitability but also, say, Handiwork will craft first and haul only when nothing else is queued. Dedicated haulers, Pals whose only competing suitability is Cooling, or a lock are the only way logistics stay predictable.

If you only remember one rule for Transport: either field a Pal whose competing jobs are intermittent (Defense, Aid, Extinguish, Repair, Construction), lock the job on a Monitoring Stand, or use a dedicated Pal with nothing better to do. Multi-role “best stats” picks without a lock are how Transport queues stall overnight.

How we ranked these

  • Task priority first: prefer Pals that actually stay on Transport — dedicated workers, Pals whose competing suitabilities lose to it, or a Monitoring Stand lock.
  • Dedicated transporters first: Helzephyr and Eidrolon have no other suitability, so they only ever haul.
  • Base buff: Wumpo's partner skill adds +1 Transport to every other Base Pal regardless of his own job. Useful even while he's locked to Logging or Handiwork instead.
  • Vanwyrm Cryst naturally prefers Transport over its own Cooling suitability, since 17 beats 19: a clean nocturnal hauler with zero lock.
  • Knocklem, Quivern, Beakon, and Cryolinx Terra all prefer Mining, Generating, or Handiwork first. Lock Transport or they stop hauling.
  • Obtainability: Killamari and Hangyu Cryst are early commons; Helzephyr is a Mid catch; Eidrolon is a late but worthwhile breeding pathways chain since it stays on Transport forever.
  • Top 5 per phase. The same Pal can stay best across Mid and End when nothing easier to field beats it.

Why does your Medicine Pal keep planting, or your fridge Pal keep mining?

Quick comparison: what to look for

  • Dedicated Transport Pals beat higher-level multi-role picks that never show up.
  • Partner-skill base buffs (+1 to every other worker) often outrank one more raw suitability level.
  • Keep at least one nocturnal option so the job does not sleep through the night.
  • Condenser and passives raise speed — they do not change default priority order.

Monitoring Stand and job locks

Open the Monitoring Stand, pick the worker, and lock Transport when their other suitabilities outrank it. Locks are not a crutch — they are the normal way to run dual-role Pals in 1.0. Remove the lock only when you intentionally want them to backfill another job.

  • Lock Transport on any Pal whose plant / ranch / generate / kindling / harvest / transport ranks beat it.
  • Keep at least one unlocked “floater” for Repair / Construction so builds and broken benches still get fixed.
  • Re-check locks after you condense or swap passives — work speed changes do not change priority order.

Early game

Vanwyrm Cryst and Muffly both haul with zero lock. Hangyu Cryst and Killamari need Transport locked over Handiwork or Watering.

Early Transport is about uptime, not perfect end-game stats. Prefer catches you can field tonight over a breeding project that leaves the bench empty for a week.

  • Hangyu Cryst portrait

    Winter Trapeze

    Lock jobHandiwork3Gathering2Cooling2Transport3

Best early Transport level (Lv3), but Handiwork still wins first on his list. Lock Transport or chests overflow.

  • Vanwyrm Cryst portrait
    Vanwyrm CrystPaldeck #064

    Aerial Marauder

    NocturnalPrefers TransportCooling2Transport3

Transport beats his own Cooling suitability, so this nocturnal wyvern hauls by default. See the Cooling guide for why he's a poor fridge pick instead.

  • Muffly portrait
    MufflyPaldeck #059

    Fluffy Flutterer

    Prefers TransportCooling2Transport1

Transport beats his own Cooling suitability too, even at a lower level: a clean, lock-free early hauler.

  • Killamari portrait
    KillamariPaldeck #030

    Fried Squid

    NocturnalEasy catchLock jobWatering1Gathering1Transport2

Common early hauler, easy to stack. Watering beats Transport on his list, so lock Transport for consistent hauling over plot watering.

  • Hangyu portrait

    Flying Trapeze

    Easy catchLock jobHandiwork1Gathering1Transport2

Regular Hangyu until you breed the Cryst. Handiwork wins first. Lock Transport for hauling.

Mid game

Helzephyr is the dedicated Mid hauler. Beakon, Quivern, and Cryolinx Terra all need Transport locked over their preferred job.

Mid game is when partner-skill base buffs and nocturnal coverage matter. If two Pals share a similar Transport level, take the one that buffs the rest of the base or works while others sleep.

  • Wumpo portrait

    Guardian of the Snowy Mountain

    Base buffLock jobHandiwork3Logging5Cooling5Transport6

Lv6 Transport is his highest level, but Handiwork and Logging both beat Transport on his list. Lock Transport to use it directly, or just let him live in the base, since his partner skill adds +1 Transport to every other Base Pal regardless of his own job.

  • Helzephyr portrait
    HelzephyrPaldeck #080

    Wings of Death

    DedicatedNocturnalTransport4

Transport-only Lv4. The one Mid Pal that can never be pulled off logistics, day or night.

  • Beakon portrait

    Thunderous

    Lock jobGenerating4Gathering2Transport5

Generating (6) beats Transport (17) on his list. Lock Transport if you'd rather haul than generate. See the Generating guide for the unlocked default.

  • Quivern portrait
    QuivernPaldeck #124

    Sky Dragon Affection

    Lock jobHandiwork2Gathering3Mining4Transport5

Best Mid carry speed, but Mining (15) beats Transport (17). Lock Transport or he mines instead of hauling.

  • Cryolinx Terra portrait

    Explosive Strength

    Lock jobHandiwork2Logging6Mining5Transport4

Handiwork and Mining/Logging (tied at 15) all beat Transport on her list. Lock Transport for a Lv4 hauler with real bulk.

End game

Eidrolon is the dedicated End crown. Knocklem and Grizzbolt both need Transport locked before they touch a chest.

End-game Transport is rarely “highest suitability number wins.” Condensed passives, Monitoring Stand locks, and not stealing workers for Ranch or Generating usually beat one more raw level.

  • Eidrolon portrait
    EidrolonPaldeck #171

    Liberated Pterosaur

    DedicatedNocturnalTransport6

Transport-only Lv6 with elite run speed. The best End hauler, never abandons logistics, day or night.

  • Knocklem portrait
    KnocklemPaldeck #159

    Steel Guardian Mode

    Lock jobGathering4Mining7Transport7

Highest Transport level (Lv7), but Mining (15) and Gathering's Farm-Harvest context (10) both beat Transport (17). Lock Transport or he mines and harvests before hauling.

  • Helzephyr portrait

    Wings of Death

    DedicatedNocturnalTransport4

Still excellent End filler while you breed toward Eidrolon, same transport-only reliability.

  • Vanwyrm Cryst portrait

    Aerial Marauder

    NocturnalPrefers TransportCooling2Transport3

Cheap, easy dedicated-leaning nocturnal filler for overflow routes.

  • Grizzbolt portrait

    Yellow Tank

    Lock jobGenerating5Handiwork4Logging3Transport5

Generating, Handiwork, and Logging all beat Transport on his list. Lock Transport specifically, or see the Generating guide for his natural default.

Common mistakes

  • Staffing Transport with a high-stat multi-role Pal and never locking the job — then wondering why they ranch or plant all night.
  • Ignoring nocturnal coverage so the entire clinic / fridge / forge sleeps at once.
  • Breeding for work speed before you have a stable cake + food loop — hungry workers abandon ${label} regardless of rank.
  • Forgetting transporters: finished goods sitting on the bench still look like a ${label} failure.
