Best Medicine Pals in Palworld (1.0 Rankings)

Quick answer

Best Medicine pals in Palworld: Felbat, Lovander, Katress, and ranked Early / Mid / End clinic picks with Monitoring Stand locks, nocturnal coverage, and Mycora’s base buff.

Sick and injured Pals cripple output. Medicine Production crafts the cures — but Planting and Ranch steal most clinic workers unless you lock the job.

Medicine Production is a bench job. Suitability level and work speed matter, but almost every Medicine Pal also Plants, Ranches, or does Handiwork, and those jobs beat Medicine on the default work task priority list. Dedicated Felbat-style workers, Pals whose highest-priority suitability happens to be Medicine, or a Monitoring Stand lock are how cures actually get crafted.

On the default work task priority chart, Medicine Production sits at priority 12 (lower number wins). That single number explains most “why won’t this Pal do their job?” tickets: competing suitabilities with a better (lower) rank steal the worker before Medicine Production ever starts.

How Medicine Production actually fails at bases

Medicine Production shares priority 12 with Watering, but it still loses to Ranch (5), Generating (6), Repair (7), Kindling (8), Cooking (9), Harvest/Transport-Food (10), and Planting/Watering-Farm (11): a long queue of constant, always-available jobs that can pull a multi-role Pal off the bench. Treat Medicine as a constant-competition suitability: dedicated Pals, naturally-preferring Pals (Medicine happens to be their single highest-priority job), or a hard lock are the only reliable cure supply.

If you only remember one rule for Medicine Production: either field a Pal whose competing jobs are intermittent (Defense, Aid, Extinguish, Repair, Construction), lock the job on a Monitoring Stand, or use a dedicated Pal with nothing better to do. Multi-role “best stats” picks without a lock are how Medicine Production queues stall overnight.

How we ranked these

  • Task priority first: prefer Pals that actually stay on Medicine Production — dedicated workers, Pals whose competing suitabilities lose to it, or a Monitoring Stand lock.
  • Dedicated or naturally-preferring first: Felbat has no other suitability, and Lovander and Katress both choose Medicine over their own higher Handiwork level because priority order beats raw suitability level.
  • Base buff: Mycora has no Medicine suitability at all, but her partner skill adds +1 Medicine to every other Base Pal just by living at the base: free levels for your locked or dedicated clinic worker.
  • Nocturnal coverage: Lovander, Katress, and Felbat are all nocturnal, so a night clinic needs no sleeping pen.
  • Avoid trusting Lyleen, Vaelet, or Beegarde as an unlocked clinic. Planting and Ranch both outrank Medicine on their suitability lists, so they farm or ranch instead unless Medicine is locked.
  • Obtainability: Felbat and Lovander are wild Mid catches; Lifmunk and Bristla are early-route commons.
  • Top 5 per phase. The same Pal can stay best across Mid and End when nothing easier to field beats it.
  • Tap any Pal for full stats, passives, and breeding routes on PalSphere.

Why does your Medicine Pal keep planting, or your fridge Pal keep mining?

Read work task priority order

Quick comparison: what to look for

  • Dedicated Medicine Production Pals beat higher-level multi-role picks that never show up.
  • Partner-skill base buffs (+1 to every other worker) often outrank one more raw suitability level.
  • Keep at least one nocturnal option so the job does not sleep through the night.
  • Condenser and passives raise speed — they do not change default priority order.

Monitoring Stand and job locks

Open the Monitoring Stand, pick the worker, and lock Medicine Production when their other suitabilities outrank it. Locks are not a crutch — they are the normal way to run dual-role Pals in 1.0. Remove the lock only when you intentionally want them to backfill another job.

  • Lock Medicine Production on any Pal whose plant / ranch / generate / kindling / harvest / transport ranks beat it.
  • Keep at least one unlocked “floater” for Repair / Construction so builds and broken benches still get fixed.
  • Re-check locks after you condense or swap passives — work speed changes do not change priority order.

Early game

Lovander naturally chooses Medicine over her own higher Handiwork level. Everything else here needs Medicine locked over Planting or Ranch.

Early Medicine Production is about uptime, not perfect end-game stats. Prefer catches you can field tonight over a breeding project that leaves the bench empty for a week.

    Heart Drain

    NocturnalPrefers MedicineHandiwork3Mining2Medicine2Transport2

Medicine (priority 12) beats her own higher Handiwork level (13) on the priority chart, so she stays on the bench without a lock. Best early Medicine pick, day or night.

  • Bristla portrait

    Princess Gaze

    Lock jobPlanting2Handiwork2Gathering2Medicine2Transport1

Best early Medicine level (Lv2), but Planting (11) outranks Medicine (12). Lock Medicine or she sows crops instead.

  • Lifmunk portrait

    Lifmunk Recoil

Everyone's first Medicine Pal. Planting still wins first. Lock Medicine once you actually need cures.

  • Beegarde portrait

    Worker Bee

    Lock jobPlanting2Handiwork2Gathering3Logging2Medicine1Transport2Farming3

Ranch (5) crushes Medicine (12) on the priority chart. Never run Beegarde as an unlocked clinic. She ranches honey instead.

  • Cinnamoth portrait

    Mysterious Scales

    Lock jobPlanting2Gathering2Medicine1

Planting outranks Medicine here too. Her real value is the Farming buff covered in the Ranch guide, not clinic duty.

Mid game

Felbat is the dedicated king. Katress stays on Medicine without a lock; everything else needs one.

Mid game is when partner-skill base buffs and nocturnal coverage matter. If two Pals share a similar Medicine Production level, take the one that buffs the rest of the base or works while others sleep.

  • Felbat portrait

    Life Steal

    DedicatedNocturnalMedicine3

Only has Medicine, so she's the one Pal here that can never be pulled away. Lv3 at 110 work speed is the benchmark every other pick is measured against.

  • Katress portrait

    Mystical Black Magic

    NocturnalPrefers MedicineHandiwork3Medicine2Transport2

Medicine beats her own Handiwork and Transport suitabilities, so this nocturnal witch stays on the bench without a lock: a Felbat backup for the night shift.

  • Sibelyx portrait

    Silk Shroud

    Lock jobMedicine2Cooling3Farming3

Ranch (5) wins the moment she's also assigned Farming. Lock Medicine if you want cures instead of High Quality Cloth.

    Grounded Archer

    Lock jobPlanting2Handiwork3Gathering3Logging2Medicine1Transport2

Decent Handiwork/Gathering generalist, but Planting (11) outranks Medicine (12) here too. Lock the job or she never touches the pill press.

  • Flopie portrait

    Helper Bunny

    Easy catchLock jobPlanting2Handiwork2Gathering2Medicine1Transport1

Cheap and common, but still needs Medicine locked over Planting.

End game

Felbat still leads End. Mycora's passive buff and Prunelia's harvest bonus matter more than their raw Medicine level. Lyleen and Vaelet need a hard lock or they farm instead.

End-game Medicine Production is rarely “highest suitability number wins.” Condensed passives, Monitoring Stand locks, and not stealing workers for Ranch or Generating usually beat one more raw level.

    Life Steal

    DedicatedNocturnalMedicine3

Still the best End Medicine worker for the same reason as Mid. Nothing outranks a Medicine-only suitability list.

  • Mycora portrait
    MycoraPaldeck #179

    Charming Spore

    Base buffPlanting6Handiwork4Gathering4

Doesn't even have Medicine suitability herself. Her partner skill adds +1 Medicine to every other Base Pal just by being present. Free level for your locked clinic worker.

  • Prunelia portrait

    Prayer for Abundant Harvest

    NocturnalBase buffLock jobPlanting3Handiwork1Gathering2Medicine3Transport1

Nocturnal Lv3 Medicine plus a passive 18-35% harvest bonus for every crop on the base. Planting (11) still beats Medicine (12) on her list, so lock the job if you need cures over crops.

  • Lyleen portrait
    LyleenPaldeck #186

    Harvest Goddess

    Lock jobPlanting7Handiwork5Gathering6Medicine3

The iconic healer, but Planting (11) beats Medicine (12) on her own suitability list. Never expect an unlocked clinic from her. Lock Medicine specifically.

  • Vaelet portrait
    VaeletPaldeck #066

    Purification of Gaia

    Lock jobPlanting3Handiwork3Gathering3Medicine3Transport2Farming2

Same story: Planting and Ranch both beat Medicine on her list. Lock Medicine or she never crafts a single cure.

Common mistakes

  • Staffing Medicine Production with a high-stat multi-role Pal and never locking the job — then wondering why they ranch or plant all night.
  • Ignoring nocturnal coverage so the entire clinic / fridge / forge sleeps at once.
  • Breeding for work speed before you have a stable cake + food loop — hungry workers abandon ${label} regardless of rank.
  • Forgetting transporters: finished goods sitting on the bench still look like a ${label} failure.
