What Is Hexolite Used For in Palworld? Every Recipe and Cost

Quick answer

Hexolite goes into 63 recipes across 27 items: the Hexolite armor line, Advanced Shield, five energy weapons and their ammo, six Pal saddles, Thermal Cores, Triple Jump Boots, Air Walker accessories, Exotic Spheres, and Powerful Fishing Magnets.

Hexolite feeds 63 recipes across 27 different items: armor, energy weapons, ammo, saddles, and Thermal Cores. Here is every one, with the exact bar cost and what to craft first.

Hexolite is the late alloy that gates almost every top-tier craft in Palworld. Our recipe data lists 63 recipes that consume it, covering 27 different items once you fold the upgrade tiers together. Most of that spend lands on four things: the Hexolite armor line, energy weapons, their ammo, and the Thermal Core that many of those recipes quietly ask for. This page is the full spend list, so you know how many bars to smelt before you commit.

Every bar costs 1 Hexolite Quartz plus 1 Chromite. You smelt it at a Gigantic Furnace, which unlocks at Technology 58 alongside the Hexolite recipe itself, or later at the Ancient Furnace from Technology 66. Because the ratio is one to one, every Hexolite number below is also your Quartz number and your Chromite number.

The hidden cost: Thermal Cores

Thermal Core is the recipe most players miss. It costs 2 Hexolite, 4 Flame Organ, 8 Coal, and 2 Corrosive Solvent, and it unlocks at Technology 59. Many Hexolite recipes then ask for Thermal Cores on top of their own Hexolite, so the true bar cost is higher than the recipe screen suggests.

  • Plasma Cannon lists 130 Hexolite plus 4 Thermal Cores, so it really eats 138 bars.
  • Energy Shotgun lists 130 plus 5 Thermal Cores, so 140 bars.
  • Overheat Rifle lists 135 plus 5 Thermal Cores, so 145 bars.
  • Laser Gatling Gun lists 100 plus 3 Thermal Cores, so 106 bars.
  • Advanced Shield lists 50 plus 5 Thermal Cores, so 60 bars.
  • Heat Resistant Hexolite Armor lists 50 plus 2 Thermal Cores, so 54 bars.

Staffing the Gigantic Furnace

The Gigantic Furnace needs a Fire Pal to light it, and its description says several Pals can work it together. Each Hexolite bar takes 2.5 times the furnace work of a Plasteel bar, so high Kindling levels pay off directly.

Upgrade tiers and full set math

Armor and energy weapons have four more tiers, each unlocked by a schematic and each crafted fresh. Tier costs climb steadily, and tiers 2 to 5 also add Ancient Civilization Parts.

  • Hexolite Armor tiers 1 to 5: 50, 62, 75, 87, 100 Hexolite.
  • Hexolite Helmet tiers 1 to 5: 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 Hexolite.
  • Lightweight Hexolite Armor tiers 1 to 5: 100, 125, 150, 175, 200 Hexolite.
  • Plasma Cannon and Energy Shotgun tiers 1 to 5: 130, 162, 195, 227, 260 Hexolite.
  • Starter set, Hexolite Helmet plus Hexolite Armor: 90 Hexolite, so 90 Hexolite Quartz and 90 Chromite.
  • Starter set plus Advanced Shield: 150 bars once you count the shield's 5 Thermal Cores.
  • Tier 5 Helmet plus tier 5 Hexolite Armor: 180 bars, so 180 Quartz and 180 Chromite.

What to craft first

  • 1. Hexolite Armor and Hexolite Helmet (90 bars). The biggest survival jump per bar.
  • 2. A small Thermal Core stock (2 bars each). Almost every later craft needs them.
  • 3. Advanced Shield (60 bars with cores) once you have the Ancient Civilization Cores.
  • 4. One energy weapon. Laser Gatling Gun is the cheapest at 106 bars real cost, and it unlocks first.
  • 5. Your mount saddle if it is on the list. Faleris is only 5 bars.
  • 6. Heat or Cold Resistant armor only when a zone demands it.
  • 7. Upgrade tiers last. Each tier is a fresh craft, so you pay the full price again.

Common mistakes

  • Budgeting only the Hexolite line on a recipe. Thermal Cores add 6 to 20 bars to most weapons.
  • Smelting Quartz faster than Chromite. The furnace stops the moment either chest runs dry.
  • Trusting old wiki recipes that list 5 Chromite and 12 Quartz per bar. The live recipe is 1 plus 1.
  • Crafting Lightweight armor first. At 100 bars it costs twice the standard chest piece.
  • Forgetting Plasteel. Armor, the Laser Gatling Gun, and the Plasma Cannon all need it.

Quick answers

  • Recipe: 1 Hexolite Quartz plus 1 Chromite gives 1 Hexolite.
  • Station: Gigantic Furnace (Technology 58) or Ancient Furnace (Technology 66).
  • Cheapest sink: Exotic Sphere at 1 bar.
  • Most expensive base craft: Plasma Cannon or Energy Shotgun, around 140 bars with cores.
