Palworld Base Raids Explained: Triggers, Defense, and Recovery
Quick answer
Palworld 1.0 base raids: Enable Raid Events, wave clears, Negotiator skip, faction-by-biome attackers, ammo-free defenses, and recovery tips.
Base raids feel random until you learn the triggers and which walls, turrets, and Pals actually stop the wave.
In Palworld 1.0, base raids are wave events. Enemies hit in successive waves, you get rewards for clearing the full set, and defense layout matters because turrets and walls no longer chew ammo just to exist.
What a base raid is
- A timed invasion of your Palbox radius by faction enemies (and sometimes specialty events).
- Waves keep coming until you clear them or the base folds. Clearing all waves pays raid rewards.
- Who shows up depends on biome. Example from the 1.0 notes: Free Pal Alliance around Crescent Moon Shore, Brothers of the Eternal Pyre around Mount Obsidian.
- Raid enemy level scales with the Work Pals assigned to that base. A stacked factory invites harder waves.
Triggers and settings
- World setting Enable Raid Events turns the whole system on or off. Dedicated servers and solo worlds both expose it.
- Leaving raids on is the default progression path. Turn them off only if you want a pure builder sandbox.
- Gold Coin Assembly Line bases can draw a dedicated raid flavor. Defend the money printer or move it.
- A Negotiator visitor can cancel an upcoming raid for Gold Coins when the base is not ready. Pay to skip, or fight for the clear rewards.
- Base Pal battle mode toggles between Focus on work and Attack invaders. Raids need combat-ready assignees, not only ranch bots.
Defense layers that matter
Wooden Defensive Wall
Structures
Massive defensive wall to prevent enemy intrusions. Made from wood, it breaks easily.
Stone Defensive Wall
Structures
Large defensive wall that protects from enemy invasions.
Metal Defensive Wall
Structures
Massive defensive wall to prevent enemy intrusions. Made from metal, it is extremely durable.
Sandbag
Structures
Pals assigned to it will watch for approaching enemies.
Alarm Bell
Structures
Bell that sets the alert status for Pals on base. Change Pal behavior to either attack invading enemies or focus entirely on work whenever you like.
Mounted Missile Launcher
Structures
Assign a Pal with Handiwork suitability and it will protect a base using the missile launcher.
- Walls: funnel waves into a kill lane. Full boxes without a gate confuse pathing and scatter loot.
- Sandbags and Alarm Bell: early tools to hold a choke and wake the base.
- Mounted Missile Launcher (Technology 50): high-impact turret once power and Handiwork coverage are stable. 1.0 defenses do not eat ammo while idle.
- Combat Pals: assign fighters near the funnel. Ranch-only bases lose structures even with pretty walls.
- Traps (Hanging Trap, Bear Traps, Mines) soft-enrage packs on the approach path.
Walls and turret deep-dive ships next.
Walls and turrets guideAfter-raid recovery
- Queue Handiwork Pals on broken walls and production buildings first.
- Restock food and check SAN. Clinic coverage stops a wipe spiral after a long defense.
- Transport Pals sweep ground loot so raid rewards do not despawn under debris.
- If the same base keeps failing, drop Work Pal levels, tighten the funnel, or pay the Negotiator until defenses catch up.
Idle defenders are often a work-priority problem, not a gear problem.
Pals not transportingSketch the kill lane in the base planner before you place metal walls.
