Why Aren't My Pals Transporting in Palworld?

Quick answer

Food transport is actually a separate, higher-priority job than general Transport, so if food is not moving, check power, pathing, and whether a Pal with food-transport suitability is even assigned, rather than assuming it is the same fix as general Transport.

Haulers look busy and chests still overflow. Transport lost the priority fight, or the station has Allow Transport by Pals turned off.

Transport is rarely broken. It is a low-priority job, easy to turn off per station, and often given to Pals that would rather craft or mine.

Work priority comes first

  • Transport (Food) is high priority (near the top of the assign order).
  • Transport (Floor / disposable) is much lower.
  • General Transport is near the bottom, above only World-Spawn Harvest and Cooling.
  • Ranch, Generating, Repair, Kindling, Cooking, Harvest, Planting, Watering, Medicine, Handiwork, and Mining all beat general Transport.

A Pal with Handiwork and Transport crafts first. A Pal with Mining and Transport digs first. If you need hauling, lock Transport or use a Transport-only species.

Allow Transport by Pals

Every crafting and production station has an Allow Transport by Pals setting. It starts off until you enable it. When it is off, finished products stay on the station even if haulers are free. Turn it on for full automation. Leave it off only when you want to move items by hand.

Quick fix checklist

  • Enable Allow Transport by Pals on every station that should auto-unload.
  • Put at least one high Transport suitability Pal on the base.
  • At the Monitoring Stand, disable competing jobs on your haulers.
  • Keep filtered chests next to production so pathing stays short.
  • Remember food transport is a different, higher-priority job than general Transport.

Need dedicated haulers? Use the Transport picks guide.

Monitoring Stand how to use

Diagnosing a stuck factory step by step

  • Open the station and check Allow Transport by Pals first. This single checkbox is the most common cause of a factory that looks busy but never actually unloads.
  • Check the base's overall work priority chart next. A Pal with Handiwork and Transport suitability will always craft before it hauls, so it can look idle on the hauling job even though it is technically working.
  • Confirm at least one Pal on the base actually has decent Transport suitability. A base full of Mining and Kindling specialists with zero dedicated haulers will always struggle no matter what settings you flip.
  • Check for a pathing block. A wall, a locked door, or a chest placed somewhere unreachable can stop a hauler cold even with every setting correct.

Setting up dedicated haulers

If general Transport keeps losing the priority fight on a busy base, the cleanest fix is a small crew of Pals whose only real job is hauling. Lock them to Transport from the Monitoring Stand and disable every other suitability they have. They will never win a race against a Mining or Handiwork specialist for those other jobs anyway, so removing the competition entirely keeps your chests moving.

Common questions

Short answers for searches that should land here, with links to the item, map pin, or related guide when you need more detail.

Why are my Pals not transporting food to storage?
Food transport is actually a separate, higher-priority job than general Transport, so if food is not moving, check power, pathing, and whether a Pal with food-transport suitability is even assigned, rather than assuming it is the same fix as general Transport.
Does the Monitoring Stand fix transport problems permanently?
It helps by letting you lock a Pal to Transport and disable competing jobs, but it will not fix a base with zero Transport-suitable Pals or a station with Allow Transport by Pals still switched off. Monitoring Stand how to use
Is there a work priority list I can check for Transport?
Yes. The default assign order chart shows exactly where Transport (Food), Transport (Floor), and General Transport sit relative to every other job, so you can see at a glance what is winning the priority fight. Work task priority guide
