Palworld Hard Mode: Zoe and Grizzbolt at the Rayne Syndicate

Zoe and Grizzbolt hold the Rayne Syndicate tower, the first tower on the ladder. Grizzbolt is pure Electricity, so Ground damage is the answer on both Normal and Hard. The fight is decided by one attack: the minigun spray, which fires in a wide fan while Grizzbolt stands still. Sidestep during the wind up and punish the recovery window.

On Normal, most players clear this around level 10 to 15 with any Ground Pal from the starting island. On Hard Mode the tells are identical and the damage is not, so the same pattern recognition applies with a much smaller margin for error.

The fight pattern

• Grizzbolt is slow and cannot chase you effectively if you keep circling. Distance is free safety.
• The minigun fan is the only attack that reliably kills. It is telegraphed clearly and fired from a standing position.
• Sidestep the wind up rather than trying to outrun the spray. The fan is wide but the recovery is long.
• Punish during recovery. That window is where the whole damage budget of the fight lives.
• On Hard, do not greed the window. One extra attack animation is how the clear turns into a death.

What to bring

• Ground damage. Anubis is the standard answer and doubles as a Large Pal Soul source elsewhere.
• Do not bring a Water Pal. Electricity into Water is exactly the trade Grizzbolt wants.
• A defence meal rather than an attack meal on Hard. A slow clear is still a clear.
• Ranged pressure, because standing in melee range during a minigun fan is the death you will actually take.

What the Hard rematch pays

Normal clears mainly move the story forward. The real loot sits on Hard Mode rematches, which unlock after the Azure Covenant tower. A first Hard clear grants the NPC hat, Training Crystals, and a chance at legendary schematics.

• Zoe's hat drops on your first Hard clear. Cosmetic, but it is the completion marker people chase.
• Training Crystals each raise a Pal's level by one, which is a real shortcut on a Pal you are finishing.
• Legendary schematic chance. Hard Mode rematches pay these at rates no cavern chest table matches.
• Ancient technology points, which is what funds the Hexolite Quartz Mine and the Wing Pack.

Catching Grizzbolt for yourself

The tower Grizzbolt is scripted and cannot be captured, but Grizzbolt has real wild habitat clusters. The densest sits nearest The Verdant Rootpath, with further clusters toward Whimsical Wisteria Grove and Alluvion Lakefront. There is also a Grizzbolt Alpha spawn out toward the Sea Breeze Archipelago side of the map.
