Palworld Fishing Guide: Best Fishing Pals, Bait, and Spot Routes

Fishing unlocks at Technology level 15 with the Beginner Fishing Set. You need a rod, bait, and water with visible fish shadows. Stronger shadows want a better rod, better bait, and a fishing Partner Skill lineup, especially once you leave the starter seas for Feybreak, Sunreach, and World Tree water.

Cast loop in short steps

• Craft a Beginner Fishing Rod and Simple Bait, equip the rod, and aim slightly above a moving shadow.
• Wait for the bite, then keep the green control bar over the fish icon until the capture gauge fills.
• Do not fight on the shore. Nearby shadows flee.
• Upgrade rods: Beginner (15) → Intermediate Cattiva (29) → Advanced Pengullet (45). Schematic rods (Gumoss / Croajiro / Depresso) are stronger; Depresso Advanced is the top craftable bar.

• Simple Bait: 2 Aquatic Pal Fluids, 4 Red Berries, 2 Flour → 10 bait. Starter lure.
• Beginner Bait / Sweet Bait: early upgrades that slow gauge drain or raise bite rate.
• High Quality Bait (Technology 22): 3 Aquatic Pal Fluids, 4 Tomato, 3 Flour. Faster bites.
• Lucky Bait / Quick Bait: High Quality branch for more item rewards or bite speed.
• Deluxe Bait (38): High Quality Pal Oil plus veggies. Enlarges the green bar.
• Alluring Bait (52): expensive Cavern Mushroom craft. Bigger bar and better item rewards. Save it for talented shadows.
• Risky Bait: Deluxe branch for skilled anglers who want a harder minigame trade.

• Mid: Intermediate rod plus High Quality or Deluxe Bait on denser island rings.
• Late: Advanced rod, Alluring Bait, and the full aura party in Feybreak / Sunreach / World Tree seas.
• Purple sparkles = Alpha. Green sparkles = Rainbow Passive. Strong purple geyser glow = Lunker. Bring Gloopie and the Whalaska line.
• Fishing Pond (31) and Large Fishing Pond (69) automate volume at base while you hunt talented shadows by hand.
