Palworld 1.0.4 and 1.0.5 Patch Notes: What Changed in Your Save
Quick answer
1.0.5, released 14 September 2026. It is a small hotfix on top of 1.0.4 from 7 September.
1.0.4 is the widest patch since 1.0: two new sub-missions, Ancient Bark at Lumbering Lv. 1, a fishing rework, and three passives that were quietly broken. 1.0.5 only fixed blurry textures. Here is what each change means for your save.
Palworld 1.0.4 went live on 7 September 2026 and 1.0.5 followed on 14 September. 1.0.4 is a balance and repair patch with two new sub-missions and no new Pals or regions. 1.0.5 is a two-line hotfix. Most of the 1.0.4 list is crash and display fixes, so this page skips those and focuses on the changes that alter what you can do, what you should farm, or what you have been getting from your passives.
The short version
- Ancient Bark now only needs Work Suitability Lv. 1 to gather, so any logger can feed accessory crafts.
- Lucky now gives its Defense bonus, and Idiosyncratic works at all. Both were silently broken before.
- Mercy Hit now applies to attacks by Pals you are riding.
- Fishing is easier in Sunreach and the World Tree, each bait pays out differently, and there is a new World Setting for fish behaviour.
- Pal Critic requests changed: Sakurajima now wants Dogen, Sunreach now wants Faleris Aqua.
- Two new sub-missions start at Fisherman's Point in Mount Obsidian.
- 1.0.5 fixed low-resolution textures and map filters switching off after respawn.
New sub-missions: Beyond Dimensions and From the Far Side of the Moon
Talk to the NPC at Fisherman's Point in Mount Obsidian to pick up Beyond Dimensions. From the Far Side of the Moon unlocks once Beyond Dimensions is complete. Fast travel to Fisherman's Point if you have it, then follow the mission marker.
Ancient Bark at Work Suitability Lv. 1
This is the change most players feel first. Ancient Bark feeds a set of strong accessories, and before 1.0.4 gathering it needed a higher Work Suitability level than most early logging teams had. Now any Lumbering Pal can work those trees, which makes these crafts realistic much earlier.

Ancient Bark
Materials
The bark of a tree that has lived for many years in extreme environments. Even the thin bark evokes a sense of boundless vitality.

Pal Tamer's Glasses
15 Ancient Bark
Eyewear for Pal Tamers. The wearer's attacks will not reduce the target's Health below 1. Reveals hidden Pal potentials.
- Reptyro Charm: 30 Ancient Bark. Big Fire and heat resistance.
- Air Walker Mk I: 15 Ancient Bark. Mid-air jump and dash.
- Islander's Tool Belt: 30 Ancient Bark. Carry weight and Work Speed.
- Pal Tamer's Glasses: 15 Ancient Bark. Attacks cannot drop a target below 1 HP, and you can see hidden potentials.
Passive fixes: Lucky, Idiosyncratic and Mercy Hit
- Lucky: the Defense bonus was not activating. It does now, so Lucky gives Attack, Defense and Work Speed as written.
- Idiosyncratic: this mutation passive was not activating correctly. If you built around it, it finally does something.
- Mercy Hit: now applies to attacks by a Pal you are riding.
- Killamari Primo: its Partner Skill Lv. 2 and Lv. 3 effects were swapped. That is fixed.
- Grintale: Mutated Eggs copied by Grintale now keep their mutated stat values.
None of these change the passive text, so nothing in your Palbox looks different. They only change whether the bonus you already had is applied.
Fishing changes
- Fishing spots in Sunreach and the World Tree area are easier.
- Each bait type now gives a different amount of items on a successful catch, so it is worth testing your usual bait again.
- The minigame now shows control prompts, warnings and recommended equipment.
- New World Setting: Fish Behavior During Fishing Minigames. Single-player hosts and server admins can calm fish down for their group.
- The reward panel no longer shows the same item type in more than one slot, which made some hauls look bigger than they were.
Pal Critic swaps
Base, building and server changes
- Cancelling work at a production facility now returns materials to your inventory.
- You, your summoned Pals and Base Pals no longer catch fire from player-built Campfires.
- Logging now works on trees that respawn inside a base.
- New server setting: admins can cap how many buildings each player can place.
- With building restrictions on, you can no longer build around Suzaku in the desert, the desert Main Mission cave, or some Sakurajima mission spots.
- Re-using an unlocked Watchtower now reveals unexplored map around it.
Story blockers fixed
- If you beat Panthalus before reaching that point in the Main Mission, the World Tree Guardian now appears later as it should.
- Crafting an Axe and a Pickaxe now progresses even if you already owned or equipped them.
Quality of life
- Palpedia now has name search, plus explanations for Work Suitability details.
- Bounty Token pickups now show the passive effect and item description.
- The default FPS cap on PC is now 120.
- Version mismatch errors now show the server's version, which helps when a dedicated server is a patch behind.
1.0.5 (14 September)
- Fixed terrain, building and other textures loading at very low resolution for some players.
- Fixed some map icon filters turning themselves off after respawning.
What to do after updating
- Put any Lumbering Pal on Ancient Bark trees and craft the accessories you skipped.
- Re-check Lucky Pals in your combat team now that the Defense bonus counts.
- If a story mission stalled after Panthalus, load in and check whether the World Tree Guardian now appears.
- Retry fishing in Sunreach and the World Tree with your usual bait.
- Server admins: update the server so players do not hit version mismatch errors.
