Partner Skill Modifiers, How Mounted Attacks Alter Player Scaling

Do your stats or your mount's stats decide damage while riding? The answer surprises most players.

Mounted combat blends two sources of power: your character's stats and the mount's partner skill. Understanding which one drives a given attack tells you whether to invest in your own gear or in the Pal.

Conversion passives

Some mounts convert your weapon attacks into their element. Riding Chillet, for example, can shift your primary weapon damage into a specialized element, letting you exploit type matchups with a gun you already own. The conversion changes the damage type; your player Attack attribute still feeds the scaling.

How the numbers stack

  • Player Attack scales your weapon portion of mounted damage.
  • The partner skill contributes its own scaling and, often, the element.
  • Stacking player Attack investment with a strong conversion mount compounds both.

Compare partner skills to pick your damage mount.
