Separate Cooldown Loops, The Mounting Animation Exploit

Boss fights demand maximum skill output inside the 2-minute Arena limit, and cooldowns behave differently when you mount.

High-tier boss battles and the 2-minute Arena limit reward players who can chain heavy-hitting abilities faster than their cooldowns should allow. The trick lives in how the game tracks cooldowns for the ridden versus autonomous states.

Two independent trackers

A Pal's active skill cooldown runs on a separate timer depending on whether it is being ridden or fighting on its own. Firing a big mounted ability starts the mounted cooldown; dismounting and sending the Pal out to fight lets it use a fresh, separately-tracked cooldown, and vice versa.

The optimal swap loop

  • Fire the heavy mounted skill, then dismount.
  • Let the Pal use its autonomous skill on its own timer.
  • Remount once the mounted timer is up, effectively doubling your burst windows.

Pick the highest-burst Pals for Arena and boss runs.
